Important message regarding COVID-19

The health and safety of our patients is our top priority at IWR. We are closely monitoring the Alabama Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines for the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Our medical staff and employees follow strict guidelines for cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, common-use areas and treatment rooms to reduce/prevent the spread of illness. Hand washing and sanitizing are handled very carefully and thoroughly.

We want to assure you we are taking extensive steps to help ensure your health and safety. Therefore, we have implemented the following guidelines for patient appointments effective March 17, 2020:

  • Only ONE essential caregiver will be allowed to accompany a patient into the building.
  • Please call to reschedule if the patient, caregiver or anyone in the household has experienced any of the following symptoms:

We will continually monitor the situation and as we become aware of new information about coronavirus, we will make adjustments to our processes and will communicate any updates to our patients and clients. You can also find the latest updates at CDC.gov.

Current Patients:

We ask that if you are sick (fever, coughing, chills), please cancel your appointment and reschedule for a later time when you are no longer sick. If you or anyone in your household has any of these symptoms, please contact our office to reschedule your appointment.

To protect our patients, staff and family members at all of our locations, we will only be allowing one (1) necessary caregiver/driver/family member/friend to accompany patients.

We recommend and urge patients to refer to the CDC website for information on preventing illness from the coronavirus.

Am I at risk?

If you are in a group that has been identified as being at high-risk for serious illness from coronavirus infection, you should also consider additional precautions such as limiting close contact with others, avoiding crowds, and avoiding cruise travel and non-essential air travel. Please refer to the CDC webpage for more detailed information.

For more information about who is at risk for serious illness from the coronavirus refer to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

What if I develop symptoms?

If you think you have been exposed to the coronavirus and develop any fevers/chills, cough, shortness of breath, or other concerning symptoms, call your primary doctor immediately. Please also refer to information provided by the CDC on how to prevent the spread of coronavirus if you are sick.
